Football Frustration!
I have lived in Cincinnati, Ohio all my life with the exception of the nearly 15 years I spent serving in the US Army. This is a nice city. A good place to raise kids. I am a Cincinnati Bengals fan. I am old enough that I have been a fan since they began in 1968. I am a football fan in general having played it growing up on the streets and in various levels of organized sports.
If you are a football fan you most likely know that the Bengals are the "Earthworms" of the NFL, and have been for some time now. We did have one winning season two years ago only to have our quarterbacks knee blown out in the first serious of the first playoff game. This is most disheartning.
Here is what makes it so frustrating. We have had some good players here. We have an excellent headcoach here. The problem is the owner Mike Brown. Mike is the son of the great Paul Brown whom was one of footballs greatest, most knowledgable and most innovative men. Mike isn't and Mike is cheap. Mike is tight. So tight you couldnt drive a thumbtack in his butt with a sledghammer. When we have a good player he refuses to pay them any money to keep them here. The result is as soon as they are elidgable, they are off to another team and getting superbowl rings.
When a player stinks the joint up, fans can complain until the headcoach cuts him or benches him. When the headcoach stinks up the joint, fans can complain until the owner fires him and gets a different headcoach. When the owner stinks the fans can "?". I been around a while and cannot remember one time an owner has fired himself. Mike is such a bad owner that if his dad were alive he would probably fire him.
